Privacy notice
What we hold about you, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
This notice has not yet been reviewed against the Kenyan Data Protection Act 2019 or the UK and EU GDPR by a qualified adviser. It describes our actual practice and we hold ourselves to it, but that review is outstanding and we make no claim of certified compliance until it is done.
What we hold
Your contact details, the property information you give us, the scope you accept, and the evidence and reports produced for your case.
Evidence storage
Photographs, video and documents are held privately against your case. They are not published, not indexed, and not uploaded to any public video service. Access is restricted to the staff working on your case.
Other people in the evidence
Field work sometimes captures neighbours, caretakers, tenants and guests. We minimise what we record about them, attribute statements as statements, and do not enter occupied units without proper permission.
Notifications
We keep exact addresses and sensitive findings out of email and message bodies. Notifications tell you that something is ready; the detail lives behind sign-in.
Cookies, advertising and analytics
We advertise on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and TikTok. If you consent, those platforms set cookies that tell them an advert led to a visit or an enquiry, and we send the same event from our server so it is not counted twice. Without your consent none of this loads and none of it runs. We never pass them your property details, your questions or anything from a report. You can change your choice at any time from the link in the footer.
Retention and deletion
Enquiries that do not become assignments are deleted after 12 months. Case records, evidence and reports are kept for 7 years from the date the report was issued, because a report may be relied on long after it was written and we need to be able to answer for it. You can ask us to delete your data sooner and we will, unless we are required to keep it — in which case we will tell you which records those are and why.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to hello@verifyke.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the UK or EU you may also complain to your national data protection authority; in Kenya, to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
Who else sees your data
Our hosting and database providers, our email provider, and the advertising platforms named above where you have consented. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with sellers, agents, brokers or contractors — including anyone connected to the property you asked us about.
